Clinical Breakthroughs | Heather Hirsch, M.D., M.S., MSCP Joins DOC Faculty

Each woman’s health journey is unique, according to Heather Hirsch, M.D. This is why the menopausal and perimenopause expert and educator believes a personalized pathway is needed to treat a woman’s health needs as they move through life.

Hirsch’s dedication to helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause began early in her career as she recognized the need for not just attention, but intervention. Following her fellowship with the Cleveland Clinic, she joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School, where she founded The Menopause and Midlife Clinic at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2020.

Today, as the founder and CEO of The Collaborative, she provides concierge-level care to support perimenopausal and menopausal women through numerous avenues, from FDA-approved treatments, including hormone replacement treatment, to supplements. She is also the founder of the Heather Hirsch Academy, which trains clinicians in best practices to address menopause and perimenopause.

“Talking about this is so important,” she said in 2024. “It is nothing short of a public health crisis that we have not been talking about how all women in every zip code go through perimenopause and menopause and how we can end suffering because it’s not necessary.”

Hirsch is the author of two books, “Unlock Your Menopause Type” and the soon-to-be-published “The Perimenopause Survival Guide.” She has also co-authored numerous papers and articles, including those that address best practices on hormone therapies treating menopausal symptoms. She is board-certified in internal medicine, is a North American Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, and is a fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health

We are thrilled that Dr. Hirsch is joining our DOC 2025 Faculty!
