Late one evening in the spring of 2023, our co-founders Kevin Ryan and Jordan Shlain commiserated about the state of longevity and health conferences. Here they were at one of the industry’s premier events, but they were both dissatisfied. There was too much selling, too much snake oil, and far too little focus on the science, they agreed. Why wasn’t there an event they both wanted to attend – one where they not only learned about the state of the art in longevity science, but also where they could join a community of like minded leaders who could advance the field with respect for the core science that drives it?
It was then and there that Kevin challenged Jordan – an M.D. and leader in the space – to create that gathering. Jordan brought in his friend and media entrepreneur John Battelle, and DOC was born. Nearly two years later, DOC has spawned a community of medical, financial, and business leaders who share a core set of values around the role of science in health. Our mission is to unite and catalyze these leaders to advance credible science, foster meaningful dialogue, and drive innovations that improve lives.
The success of our inaugural gathering this past Fall, coupled with an outpouring of support, partnership requests, and great ideas from our community has led us to realize that DOC should stand for more than just an annual event. DOC has become a movement, and it’s time for us to find a leader who can help shape that movement into a world class organization.

DOC was founded by Jordan Shlain, M.D.; John Battelle, and Kevin Ryan.
The CEO Role
We are seeking an experienced strategic, thoughtful and entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer to build DOC into an influential high-growth company that is a leader in its field. They will have ultimate responsibility for development, management and execution of all DOC related business ventures. Our Chief Executive Officer will play a critical role in vision setting, strategic planning, finance, marketing, and product development. Our ideal CEO will have an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset while also understanding what it means to be a participant leader and scale a fast-growth organization.
Who you are:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in a healthcare, media/events, or technology companies
- Passion for longevity, science, health and well-being.
- Strong network, community focused, events experience.
- Ability to recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team.
- Experience with fundraising and investor and board management.
- Experience with early stage company building.
- Passion and love for building a strong community with enthusiasts in the health and wellbeing market.
- Experience with driving results and scaling high growth businesses.
- Highly results driven with outstanding analytical ability.
- Good humor and positive, can-do attitude is required
- Significant travel to domestic markets
