Roma van der Walt is a data-driven maestro, transforming health metrics, such as resting heart rate (which she calls the “Holy Grail” of health), into longevity solutions tailored to female bodies. Melding biometrics to women’s healthcare is instinctive to van der Walt, who represented Team Germany in the Modern Pentathlon for seven years. She benefitted from personalized metrics as she trained to compete in fencing, shooting, running, horseback riding, and swimming — all in one day.
Van der Walt is now the founder and CEO of female healthcare firm Vitelle, which weaves data and technology into actionable insights, deciphering metrics into high performance longevity solutions, focused specifically on women. Sleep and exercise are core, but so too are nutrition, mindfulness, and community. “I wanted to have that experience…I had as an athlete, but now for women as they age,” she says.
Central to van der Walt’s approach is a not asking women “how they feel” health-wise, but instead drawing insights from their personalized data so they can make adjustments specific to their health journey. Everything is on the table, from hormone levels to sleep patterns, all woven into an approach that works for their unique needs: whether that’s reducing anxiety in the middle of a stressful day, or wanting to lift a suitcase into an overhead compartment — at 70.
Armed with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in exercise physiology and sports science, van der Walt has dedicated her career to training and inspiring women to reach peak performance. Before founding Vitelle, van der Walt founded Chitta Wellness, a health training company focused on pre- and post-natal health, as well as coached hundreds of women to run half and full marathons for Every Mother Counts, a global maternal health program founded by Christy Turlington Burns. She was most recently named a Longevity Redefiner by Women’s Health.
We’re excited to have Roma join our growing list of DOC 2025 Faculty and Specialists and welcome her to our DOC 2025 community.
